  2. This is the completed third panel measuring in at 36 inches by 84 inches (also known as 3’ x 7’). Big. So Pocomoonshine summit is depicted in the middle with Pepper the Border Collie checking out the sights. The foreground forest does not exist in real life, there is no higher point after the fire tower. It’s one of the easier climbs in the ADK, and not even part of the 46 high peaks (but it’s still one of my favourites. There is a section of rock face on the trail that you can climb into and be surrounded by a mammoth slab wedge. Now that the train is getting closer it was about time to give it detail, the Amtrac rail line through the ADK was voted by Nat Geo as one of the most scenic in the entire country!

  4. These are progress shots of how the first piece came along. I know I uploaded something similar a while back but this shows the full process. Getting the colour right was one of the biggest snags with the project. Once I had the foundation for this piece the other three would be easily adaptable.

  5. One down, three more to go (all of which are bigger!)

  6. What I’m working on right now. Progress shots of a large scale project depicting the Adirondacks and its more famous mountains. This one focuses on Mt. Marcy, the highest peak in NY. There will be three more, all ranging over 5” long, so needless to say this project is going to keep me busy! More to come soon.

p.s. It’ll look better soon enough.
